Rumiko Takahashi Recomendations
The theme for these recommendations will be works adapted from manga artist Rumiko Takahashi. She is the best selling female manga artist ever. She has sold more than 100 million copies of manga. It's not my intent to introduce you to masterpieces, these animes are good and we all have different taste. But if you got down time and nothing to watch these might entertain you. Most of these are done in an older art style and the 3:4 ratio. But a good story is worth it regardless of the downsides of older art.
Very good anime. Aired from 1986 to 1988. It's a rom-com with some drama. Godai lives in a boarding house with eccentric neighbors. He goes after the manager (romantically) of the boarding house who is 2 years his senior and a widow. One of my favorites. The weird neighbors are hilarious.
2. Inuyasha
Aired from 2000 to 2004. The story is finished in a later series
InuYasha: Kaketsu-hen 2009 to 2010. The heroine can travel between
modern and ancient Japan. And ancient Japan is full of demons. This
is action adventure but you will also find some romance, drama, and
comedy. Fairly well known having been on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim.
3. Rumiko Takahashi Anthology
Aired 2003. It's a collection of short stories sourced from
material collected from different times in Takahashi's career. The
stories are not connected but you sometimes see characters of other
stories in the background. I like when authors do that :3
4. Ranma 1/2
A good Anime. Aired 1989 to 1992. This rom-com is heavy on the comedy. There is some action since most characters practice martial arts. The
premise that stands out most is that the hero changes into a girl
with cold water and hot water turns him back to a guy. The original gender bender.
5. Kyoukai no Rinne
1. Name an older art style anime you like.
2. Name a newer style anime you like. (Are you cool with CG?)
3. Anything good this season?
